Saudy Familia, an accomplished Composer, Songwriter, and Drummer, was born in the Dominican Republic and currently thrives in the vibrant artistic landscape of New York City and Sullivan County, New York. His profound connection with music ignited during his tender years, at the mere age of four, as he wholeheartedly sang his father's melodies in the Dominican Republic.
Upon his family's relocation to New York City in 2003, Saudy's musical journey gained momentum. His educational path led him to Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS), where he honed his talents from 6th to 12th grade, maturing into a skilled Jazz and Latin Jazz drummer, while slowly developing his composition and songwriting skills on the side. His artistic palette draws inspiration from luminaries such as Brian McKnight, Art Blakey and Marc Anthony, pivotal figures who guided him towards the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he pursued studies as a Jazz Drummer, Composer and Arranger.
In 2016, the culmination of Saudy’s dedication manifested in his debut full-length album, "Someone to Hold." Saudy's creative finesse seamlessly fuses elements of R&B, Salsa, Jazz, and Latin Jazz, resulting in a distinctive auditory tapestry. His aspiration is to magnetize youthful American and Latino audiences, immersing them in the evocative rhythms and resonances of the Caribbean, as eloquently conveyed through his musical compositions.
